Joss Whedon (Writer/Director)

By Peter K. Lam

I have been a fan of Joss Whedon’s work for many years. It all started with the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” TV series that aired on The WB. Since then I’ve watched practically every show he’s done and followed his career as well as his other writers in hopes of finding even greater story and vision. My friend recently sent me this video about Joss Whedon getting a lifetime achievement award as a cultural humanist. After watching the hour+ video, it just made me see how much of a visionary Joss Whedon truly is.

They played some clips from his shows so that the students at the lecture can ask him about them. There were quite a few clips all of which were powerful moments in time. There were also discussions about characters and stories that I had not thought about in ages. Thinking back to them, Joss Whedon definitely has the ability to write very powerful and meaningful stories that strikes right into your core. If you’re a Joss Whedon fan, you should watch the video. I have it embedded here for your viewing pleasure!
