Katie Cassidy is a possible candidate to replace Megan Fox.
I’m sure that everybody knows by now that Megan Fox will no longer star in “Transformers 3.” Whether she was fired or she quit, it no longer really matters. It’s a done deal. So the next question is, who will replace Megan Fox in “Transformers 3?” HitFix.com have made their predictions on ten actresses that can potentially take the role to star opposite Shia LaBeouf. The actresses they picked out were Camilla Belle (”10,000 B.C.,” “When A Stranger Calls”), Nina Dobrev (”The Vampire Diaries”), Dianna Argon (”Glee”), and Katie Cassidy (”Melrose Place,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street”) among others.
I think that Camilla Belle, Nina Dobrev and Katie Cassidy seem like they could be the best fit for the role. Michael Bay is currently creating a new female lead character so it’s still up in the air as to what the character’s backstory will be. Visually speaking, Camilla Belle and Nina Dobrev look similar to Megan Fox which could work if the new character will remain a love interest for Shia LaBeouf’s character. I personally would like the new female lead be completely new and have a fresh look. Casting someone that looks like Megan Fox would seem like they are just recasting the role. If they are doing a whole new character, someone like Katie Cassidy would be better. She looks like a good match for Shia LaBeouf but she’s also different from the rest of the competition and can shine as a new character instead of being stuck behind Megan Fox’s fading shadow.
Michael Bay has about six weeks left before filming starts for “Transformers 3″ so he’s going to have to work quickly. I’m sure more news about about Megan Fox’s replacement will surface in the following weeks.

Tom Wellings as Clark Kent and Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan
I was sad to find out today that Allison Mack, who plays Chloe Sullivan A.K.A. Watchtower, has decided not to return as a season regular for the tenth and final season of “Smallville!” She is one of my most favorite characters on the show. When “Smallville” started nearly nine years ago, Chloe was just Clark’s best friend who happened to catalogue Smallville’s strange happenings on what she called the Wall of Weird. I didn’t ever expect her character to grow into such an integral part of the “Smallville” mythos. Her complex nature and strong heart turned her into a fan favorite.
As followers of the Superman comics know, there is no such character named Chloe Sullivan in Clark’s past. This knowledge has always made fans fearful that the show creators would one day kill off Chloe’s character. I can honestly say that I gasp and wrench whenever Chloe’s life is in danger because you never know if that’s the last time you’d ever see her character again. Luckily Chloe has stuck around and rather than disappear into limbo, she became Watchtower, the central command of the future Justice League of America. Gotta give some props to the “Smallville” executive producers because that was a pretty brilliant take on her character. Her intelligence and ability to just coordinate and be the backup for any situation truly makes her a watchtower.
Since Chloe Sullivan will be returning for several episodes of the tenth season, hopefully they don’t jack up her character at the very end like killing her off then having the JLA name their headquarters Watchtower in her honor. That would be an absolute waste of a brilliant character. Chloe deserves a proper send off and definitely should be part of the pantheon of DC heroes. I can’t wait for next season! There’s going to be lots of fun and action.

Chris Evans Confirmed for Captain America!
I wrote a blog about Chris Evans being offered the role of Captain America yesterday and it now appears that he accepted! Newsarama reports that Chris Evans has accepted the offer and he joins a select few actors who have gotten to play more than one Marvel character.
I think this is a good move for the franchise. Marvel is trying to build a cast for the Avengers and adding Chris Evans to the mix will definitely mesh well with all the other actors.
So, as of now, we have Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. I don’t know who else will be part of the Avengers team but this cast is looking good so far!
